Please pray for a smooth recovery for Mrs. Goldworthy's father, who was in the hospital this week. Also pray for CSSE Kindergarden teacher, Mrs. Emerson, who is recovering from an illness.

Box Tops for Education
Did you know that St. Eugene earns money each time you clip a box top and turn it into the school?  So, start clipping and saving them for a contest that will be taking place in October!!  Don't forget to ask Grandparents, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to start clipping them too!  Also, Box Tops for Education now has an app that you can download onto your phone that allows you to scan your receipt.  If you have any questions, please email Ashley Bass at [email protected].

Letter from Kindergarden Teacher Mrs. Emerson - Prayers Needed
I know that a lot of you are wondering what is going on with me and why I have been out of school. Last Thursday, during Curriculum night, I had what I call an episode where I could not move my left side. My first thought was stroke of course, so I went to the emergency room. I had a lot of blood work and a CAT scan and there was no evidence of a stroke. I stayed home on Friday and felt well enough to return on Monday. I started having the same symptoms, so I had to leave school. I had a drs. appt. and we figured out it was probably an allergy to my thyroid medicine, which has happened before. I got new medicine and everything seemed okay. I did not sleep well Monday night and felt weird and exhausted when I woke up. I decided it would probably be best for me and my class to stay out of school until after Labor Day. Feeling better today, but not 100%. Mrs. Silvernail has been kind enough to cover for me, which is great because the fewer changes the better for the class. Thank you for your concern and prayers. We do not need anything like food or restaurant cards. Your prayers are all we need.

CLUBS AND ATHLETICS

First GREEN TEAM Meeting!
Green Team will have its first meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 11th from 3:45-4:45pm in church Meeting Room 1. We will pick up the classroom recycling, learn about monarchs and plant some pollinator-attracting plants in the garden if we have time. All ages may join, but parents are encouraged to attend with their younger children if possible. Students who attend without a parent must have this form filled out for 2019-2020 before coming to the meeting. steugeneschool.org/green-team

Choir Invitation to All St. Eugene Students, Grades 3-8!
You are all invited to join the St. Eugene’s choir! We would love to have you join us in praising God with your beautiful voices at Mass on Thursday mornings. Practices will be held after school on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15 and we will sing at Mass Thursday mornings and some Sundays and holidays.
Come to the music room Wednesdays after school if you are interested in joining. We will be walking down to the church together for our rehearsal. Parents will pick up children in the church at 4:15. On Thursday mornings, bring your child to the gym by 7:40 a.m. They will be picked up at from the gym at 7:45 by a parent or teacher and will be walked down to the church together.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year with you!

Parish Office Volunteers Needed
The church is in need of an office volunteer for Thursday Afternoons from 12:30-5 and also in need of subs. This can count towards your time and talent hours, it also allows you to get to know a lot of people in the parish. It is a relatively easy job consisting answering phones and directing people to the right places. Vocare Chalice at Mass
We need more families to take the Vocare Chalice home for a week and pray for Vocations. We especially need people after Saturday and Sunday 5:00 pm Masses.  If interested or have questions, please email Susan Givens at [email protected] or call her at 751-7115.


Afternoon Prayer
The Church is hosting a daily prayer every afternoon Monday-Friday in the church at 2:45 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. We invite you to come when you can. There will be different prayers every month and the month of August we will add a new prayer for the school.. Please join us!
