Dear Families, Faculty, and Staff,
The following distance learning plan has been developed with the best interest of your child(ren) in mind. We are dedicated to continuing to provide all the students in our building with online learning opportunities that will help them continue to develop the skills they need to be successful.
Please understand that while we continue to try to educate your child(ren), we are implementing instructional practices and expectations that are very different from what is experienced every day in a traditional classroom. To that end, please have patience with our faculty and staff, and know that your feedback and communication is welcome. In order for this endeavor to be successful, our teachers will be communicating clearly and consistently with students and families via Classtag for Preschool thru 2nd grade and Google Classroom for 3rd thru 8th grade. Classtag will still be used to communicate to all grade level families.
In Catholic schools, we believe that parents are the primary educators of their children. Parents, please support your kids and enable their success by expecting them to complete their assignments; encouraging them to reach out to their teachers if they are confused about an assignment, content, or expectations; and by communicating with teachers. We will continue to monitor the needs of our community related to COVID-19 and will provide an updated distance learning plan as the need arises. The Archdiocese provides our schools with the updates regarding school closures.
Teachers will be sending out their initial classroom Distance (Remote) Learning Plans on Sunday at 5pm. Some teachers have materials for students to pick up. On Sunday from 3pm to 4pm, we will have a "pick-up" for student materials. Teachers used CDC recommendations for preparing materials (gloves, new bags, etc). Pick up is for the following classes: 1st grade (Ardoin and Hall), 3rd grade (Long), 4th - 8th grade all students).
We are, primarily, a Catholic school, and our mission is and continues to be doing all that we can to produce young people who are formed in God’s love and mercy. Let that noble cause guide all of us in these stressful times and may we all grow closer to our Creator and Lord through our trials and victories. Thank you for your patience and support.
Faith Forward,
Mrs. Goldsworthy
