The mission of St. Eugene's House System is to create a middle school community where students and teachers work together and support each other as they grow in their Catholic faith. The purpose of each house is to guide and support the academic, social, and and personal development of each student during their time at CSSE.
Before beginning their time in the middle school house system, incoming students are sorted into one of the five CSSE houses. Students have the opportunity to grow and learn with other students in all middle school grade levels. This allows friendships and interests to extend throughout the St. Eugene Middle School. Students will learn to work hard individually for the good of their house, along with working as a team. Our house system encourages teamwork, friendship, service, and leadership.
Each house participates in acquiring daily house points, monthly challenges, and multiple service projects throughout the year. Houses are led by two 8th grade co-captains. Captains are chosen based on the following quality traits of leadership: respect, responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, and citizenship.
Each of the five houses are named for a chosen saint; the houses are:
St. Kateri Tekakwitha House
St. Katharine Drexel House
St. Patrick House
St. Francis of Assisi House
St. Thomas Aquinas House
