We would like to thank Kristin Goodale for editing and publishing the Eagle Express for the last few years. She ended up with the job longer than the normal term has lasted in the past, but has been incredibly gracious and done incredible work keeping everyone up to date. In the interest of streamlining the flow of information and letting Kristin retire from the weekly task, Kim Hattaway, who manages the majority of school communication, will take on the Eagle Express in addition to her other communication responsibilities. Thank you so much, Kristin!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for Jerry Vandiver, great-grandfather of Alaina & Davyn Schoppa, who has a long road of recovery following a fall at home. Continue to pray for the healing and recovery of the daughter-in-law of Mrs. Mogilka, who was in a serious car accident in November. Continue to pray for the healing of Francisco Peña, brother of Pre K-4 teaching assistant Mrs. Imelda Aleman, who was diagnosed with Leukemia and is undergoing chemo therapy. We pray for the strength for his family during this difficult time.

This is a busy time of year between weather, Catholic Schools Week, Enrollment, and classroom news. Make sure you are checking your email and ClassTag regularly, as well as reading the weekly Eagle Express and checking in on social media so you don't miss anything. Also, make sure your ClassTag has been updated to the latest version with notifications turned on. Refer to the family handbook announcement/communication page for more details about how and when you will receive message.
In the event of inclement weather, check the local news for school closings and keep an eye on our social media. We will also send out a ClassTag message. While we try to get information out as soon as a decision is reached, sometimes those decisions do not get made until early in the morning. Please be patient and know that we are trying to make the best choice for our students, families and staff.
Enrollment period is open for current students!
Re-Enrollment for current students is now open! See the email from Jan. 8th regarding Re-Enrollment for 2020-21 to begin the process. Applications for siblings of current students is also open. The open application window is now open for new students. Review of new applications will begin in February and offers to new students will be sent in late February, so make sure to reserve your spot for next year AND get the early bird discount on your registration fee!

Dads' Club Meeting
We'll be having our 1st Dads' Club Meeting of 2020 next Wednesday, January 15th at 6:30pm. Come out to join other Dads and enjoy the fellowship. Meets at The Garage - 2900 W Britton Rd.Enriching New Program Coming to CSSE!
Parents, check your email for a letter sent out by Mrs. Goldsworthy earlier this week regarding St. Eugene's new Enrichment Clusters! We will begin our implementation with all 2nd through 8th graders in February! We are encouraging parents and community members to get involved sharing their talents and interests! All the details are in the letter attached to Mrs. Goldsworthy's email.Save the Date! MLK SALT Day of Service
Archdiocesan schools, including CSSE, will be in session on Monday, Jan. 20th. All students will spend the day serving others and focusing on their grade level SALT topic. We will need lots of drivers and chaperones. If you have the day off or would like to help on the 20th, please let your classroom teacher know. More details and a schedule will come out in January.

During Catholic Schools Week, we like to let our students have some fun! Below is a list of daily themes that students are invited to dress up for starting on Monday, Jan. 27th. Dressing up for the theme is not required, but it's fun (and jeans are acceptable to wear with most dress up outfits)!
Students who opt not to dress up may wear normal uniforms.
On Thursday, students will wear Dress Uniforms since it's Mass day.

If you're like me and did some deep house cleaning (purging) over the break and ended up with things you don't need anymore please consider donating them to Aftercare. We love puzzles, games, toys, athletic balls and arts and crafts supplies!

ST. EUGENE GALA NEWS
St. Eugene Gala Gift Card Drive!
We are collecting gift cards for the Gala Gift Card Pull! Consider picking a gift card up to donate, or maybe you received a gift card you might not use or would like to donate? We love regifts!!! This year’s St. Eugene Gala committee will be having a gift card drive during the first few weeks of January. Envelopes with instructions will go home to all students the Friday after break. Cards collected should be valued at $20 or more and will be used for the gift card pull at the annual Gala happening April 25, 2020. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need everyone’s help to make it a success!

Vocare Chalice at Mass

Afternoon Prayer
The Church is hosting a daily prayer every afternoon Monday-Friday in the church at 2:45 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. We invite you to come when you can. There will be different prayers every month. Please join us!
