PRAYER REQUESTS 
Please add 5th grade student Mark Roby to your prayers. Pray for Ron Rakes, grandfather of Ellie Stayton, as he was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. Please pray for Jane Frame, grandmother of Jack and William Frame, as she was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently at home on hospice care. Two family members of Madison and Meagan Pham are still in need your prayers: The girls' paternal grandmother, Nu Thi Do, has been diagnosed with Stage IV cervical cancer and will not be undergoing chemo. Please pray for her, that she will be comfortable and happy for the rest of her life. Also, the Pham girls' paternal uncle, Tien Pham, is battling colon cancer and going thru chemo. Please pray for the Pham family as they go through this difficult time. Keep Robyn Paliotta, grandmother of Christopher and Sofia Petromilli, in your prayers, as she undergoes her cancer treatment. Please pray for Joe Hill, husband of former CSSE teacher and librarian Lynn Hill, who was diagnosed with cancer.

Field Day is Thursday, May 23rd, and we need some parent volunteers to make the day go smoothly! We need help from 9:15 am - 12:30 pm. We will need help with prepping and serving lunch and monitoring the different areas of field day. Parents can email Mrs. O'Connell if they want to volunteer. [email protected]

End of Year Library News
The last week to check out books will be the week of April 29th-May 3rd. All books and fines are due the week of May 6th-10th. Those students that have all books turned in and fines paid will receive a special surprise that week during their library time.

End of the Year Accelerated Reader Lunch
The top five AR point earners for the year in each grade level for grades 2nd-5th  will earn a special lunch on Tuesday May 7th. The top 15 earners in middle school will earn a special lunch on Thursday, May 9th. The last day to earn AR points will be May 3rd.

School Advisory Council Openings
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is looking for new members! The primary role of the SAC is to advise the principal and pastor in policymaking to guide our school community in fulfilling our mission. We especially need volunteers with marketing, education, facilities or law backgrounds. To serve, you must be a practicing Catholic parishioner, 18 years or older. If you’re interested in serving the Catholic School of St. Eugene in this way, please send an email to [email protected] by May 7 introducing yourself and highlighting strengths, experience/ expertise, and any aspects of the school you are passionate about.

Girls on the Run Community Impact Project
The CSSE Girls on the Run team will be selling donuts before school on Friday, May 3rd to raise funds for their Community Impact Project benefiting Central OK Humane Society.  Donuts can be purchased for $1 in Meeting Room 1 beginning at 7:30am.

CSSE families, here are the school supplies lists for the 2019/2020 school year! I know it seems early, but the deadline to order is June 30th. This is a very easy way to get everything you need all in one box and delivered directly to the school. Plus, it's a great school fundraiser! Fall Volleyball Registration Open!
It is already time to register for fall volleyball! This year they moved the registration online and the link is below. Registration for 6th, 7th and 8th grade is due by May 1st. Registration for 4th and 5th grade is due by August 16th. Please submit the registration fee to the school office. If financial assistance is needed, please contact Mrs. Goldsworthy. REGISTER HERE!

Boys Fall Volleyball
2019 fall volleyball is now open to boys! The teams will be comprised of all boys and will play in the regular CGSAA fall volleyball league (against boy and girl teams).  However, the boys teams will play up one year. If there are not enough boys at a particular school, they can combine with other schools to form a team.  Please email me if your student is interested or for more information [email protected].

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training this Summer 
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a program that gives the words and materials to share our Catholic faith with the youngest children here at Saint Eugene. It is rooted in the educational principles of Maria Montessori, the Bible, and the liturgy of the Church. This program has shown to encourage a greater participation in Mass and a strong foundation for the reception of the sacraments.  The students in grades Preschool 3-First grade participate weekly in this wonderful program. 
This summer training will be available to anyone interested in this program and sharing their Catholic faith with young children.  The dates of the training are May 29th-June 1st and June 12th-June 15th. For more information or to sign up, please contact Susan Ison at [email protected].

ST. EUGENE PARISH NEWS 

Attention 5th grade parents!
Your 5th grader is cordially invited to the annual 'Come and See' middle school youth group meeting. This is an opportunity for your student to see what middle school youth group is all about. Tuesday May 21 from 2pm - 3:45 will be our preview meeting. Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be served.

Middle School Youth Group
Middle School Youth Group is now ROTATING weeks. Please make note of the following dates for upcoming middle school youth group meetings.

May 7th - 7th and 8th grade
May 14th - NO YOUTH GROUP
May 21st - ALL 3 grades for the last meeting of the school year!  


Vocare Chalice
Due to several generous donors, we have been able to purchase 4 more Chalices. Each Mass will now have a Vocare Chalice for a family/individual to take home and pray over for a week. We need more volunteers for the Saturday 5:00 PM Mass, Sunday, Noon, 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Masses. To volunteer please call the office, 751-7115 during office hours. We need your name, email (or phone number) and which Mass you attend.

 
First Communion Grade 2  
Reminder of upcoming events.   
Practice for First Communion:  Thursday, May 2, 6:30 pm in the church.  The child has to be accompanied by a parent.  The children come dressed for First Communion as group picture is taken at practice.

EMBRACES: Marriage Enrichment Ministry 
We meet the 2nd Saturday of each month after the 5:00 pm Mass for about 1 1/2 hours. 
After a short program, couples are invited to go on a “mini” date to discuss the topics as they relate to their marriages. If they have children in our FREE “Evening Care”, they can stay with us until 10:00pm. Contact us at: [email protected].
