My name is Laura O’Connell and I am so excited to be teaching Physical Education at St. Eugene.  I am originally from Dallas, TX where I attended Catholic school from kindergarten through 12th grade.  I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Exercise & Sports Science and worked in corporate wellness before attending nursing school at the University of Oklahoma.  After graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing, I worked in a hospital until I had my first child in 2008.

My husband and I have been parishioners at St. Eugene for over 10 years and have loved our experience from the beginning.  We have three boys that attend St. Eugene School, and we are all very involved in many church and school activities. We love living here and definitely consider Oklahoma City and St. Eugene to be our home.

As a teacher, I hope to pass along my passion for fitness and wellness and help students learn to lead an active and healthy lifestyle all while having fun.
