Welcome to our St. Eugene Pre-Kindergarten program!
In Pre-Kindergarten, children will learn to strengthen their social and emotional development. Children will learn how to compromise, be respectful and problem solve. We will provide an environment for children to explore, gain a sense of self, play with peers, and build self-confidence.
In Pre-Kindergarten, behavior management is a major part of learning. Children learn how to be students. Children learn patience, how to raise their hands and take turns, how to share the teacher's attention. Children will also learn about routine, following directions and waiting.
In Pre-Kindergarten, children are certainly taught numbers and letters, but we teach in a way that is appealing to four and five-year-old children.
Children learn best through activities they find interesting, such as songs, story time and imaginative play. Children will gain the confidence of themselves as capable and independent learners.
In Pre-Kindergarten, children will learn about God's love. We will listen to Old and New Testament Bible stories as we learn about the life of Jesus. Children will pray together and attend Mass together. Children will learn about Jesus' teachings to love God and love others.
