CSSE has added new Chromebooks to our technology inventory. Our 6th through 8th graders have used their Google accounts to publish essays, conduct research, and utilize their first digital textbook “Discovery Education Science Techbook”. This is an interactive digital book that embeds video clips, interactive tools, demonstrations, etc. It allows teachers to collaborate in student learning through an interactive module - complete with lesson assignments and immediate feedback. We are excited to have our first “techbook” come alive in middle school!
Our 4th and 5th graders have opened their Google accounts as well, and have begun using Chromebooks. All 2nd-5th graders have explored the use of chromebooks to varying degrees. It is wonderful to have this mobile learning tool at CSSE!
Students are taught in an interactive environment in which they learn to use Google Suite and many other programs. Internet safety is a priority and is taught to grades 1 through 8. Age appropriate Internet access is a part of the curriculum. The principles of Christian discipleship and Catholic Social Teaching are integrated into the lessons.
St. Eugene has a modern technology lab equipped with DaVinci 3D Printer, Osmo, Ozobots, and many other STEM "toys."
Teachers may book the labs for STEM lessons. Students have the opportunity to use a variety of learning aids ranging including LEGOs, Osmos, Ozobots, and a 3D Printer.
